They're made to provide strong technical features while ensuring a discreet and classy look to the wearer ! They look like a parka with a long cut and they often provide multiple large pockets so you can keep your essentials near you throughout the day. They are often thicker and offer great insulation to keep you from being cold in the city.
• Mountain / sport down jackets : Sport down jackets for women are designed to keep you warm during a hike or an adventure in the outdoors. They are often made out of down (instead of synthetic insulation) as this type of insulation makes packable and light jackets. When the sun comes back, store your down jacket in your backpack and carry on. Fit for all situations, Columbia women's down jackets are labelled in three different warmth levels, so you can pick the one that's perfect for you !

Women's down jackets can be insulated with synthetic insulation or down. They are two classical option with down jackets and each of them provide a set of advantages :
•A synthetic insulation jacket will offer a cheaper and more resistant insulation. Typically used in city parka, coats or in entry level mountain jackets, the synthetic insulated jacket does not fear the water, it's often treated so the rain does not affect its thermal capacity. But synthetic insulated jackets also have a lesser weight to warm ratio : They're usually less compressible and more importantly, they deliver less warmth to your body.
•A down insulation jacket is the ultimate warmth standard. A down jacket keeps your body warm efficiently and protects you from the cold, all day long. It's also light and packable, meaning that when the sun comes back, you can put your down jacket in your backpack !


We have designed 3 different levels of waterproofness to keep you sheltered from the rain :
No protection : these jackets offer no protection against the rain. They are solely a thermal layer. These types of women's down jackets are often extremely light and packable.
•Drizzle. This type of jacket has a light water protection called a water-repellent treatment. This means that the jacket has no waterproof membrane but a surface treatment that helps the water slide on it without penetrating the insulation.
•Rain. An Omni‑Tech™ waterproof / breathable membrane is here to protect you from the rain. This waterproof membrane is an excellent solution to stay dry in the long run.
•Downpour. It's an upgraded Omni‑Tech™ waterproof / breathable membrane with seams fully sealed
